Caladrius Paradigm, 2020 is based on the mythology of Caladrius, a snow-white bird of medieval bestiary, whose gaze is said to be able to take the sickness into itself and by flying away to disperse it, will heal both itself and the patient. Its allegory is compatible to the salvation of Christ; whereby the installation comprises of four components—a mirror, a body of 50 resin works, three acrylic ledges and light fixtures. The installation set up highlights; suffocating and disorganised while looking away from the ill and toward those he will heal and make whole. This idea, sense and gesture of healing is noted in the recurring crescendo of white pigments throughout the series. The typicality of one’s healing. The acrylic shelves are positioned at three different height levels, the artist invites the viewer to confront these emotions at eye level; looking towards their own hurt, in the hopes that they too can be healed.
